South Brittany is full of treasures. By hike or train, you will not resist the charm of the wild coast of Quiberon. If you are passionate about history, the alignments of Carnac will not leave you indifferent. This exceptional megalithic site is made of dolmens and menhirs, nearly 4,000 raised stones forming gigantic alleys extending about 4 kilometers.
From the Brittany campsite, you can walk to the port and take a shuttle to the islands, in particular Belle-Ile-en-Mer and Ile de Groix, famous for its tranquility and its beautiful sandy beaches.
Do you like hiking? Come out of your mobile home in the Morbihan, put on your trekking shoes and go on the customs footpath (GR 34), a fabulous hiking trail. great hike along 2,000 km of Brittany coast, from La Roche-Bernard to Mont Saint-Michel. If you are looking for indoor trails, go on a family trip in the footsteps of Merlin the Enchanter and Knights of the Round Table at the forest of Brocéliande. Every summer, guided tours are organized by the tourist offices of the Pays de Brocéliande (Tréhorenteuc, Paimpont). Accompanied by a guide, you will discover the high places of the forest (Golden tree, Merlin’s tomb, Barenton fountain, oak Guillotin) and know all the legends of fairies and goblins (korrigans) that populate this forest enchanted since the beginning of time.
Brittany also has great castles in Combourg, Vitré, Tonquédec, Fougères, Josselin … Not to mention the incredible Fort la Latte (Côtes d’Armor) and the castle of the Dukes of Brittany in Nantes (Pays de la Loire).
Further north, a 40-minute drive from our campsite with swimming pool in the Morbihan, you will discover the famous city of Concarneau, the painter’s village of Pont Aven and its delicious pancakes, the typical small port of Doëlan and the cliffs of Pouldu. If you decide to visit us during the first 15 days of August, do not miss one of the biggest Celtic events in the world: the Interceltic Festival of Lorient. Brittany hosts other major festivals during the summer, including Les Vieilles Charrues (Carhaix).
Finally, Brittany has several thalassotherapy centers that use the benefits of the sea for healing purposes. The thalasso of Carnac is only a few minutes from the campsite by car.
